FAQ

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about the project, its objectives, consortium, technologies, activities and opportunities for collaboration. Whether you are a researcher, industry stakeholder, policymaker or simply interested in the future of European Telco, Edge and Cloud computing, this page is designed to help you quickly find the information you are looking for.

EURO-3C is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project that aims to establish the first large-scale, federated, open and sovereign Pan-European pilot infrastructure for Connected Collaborative Computing Networks (3CN). The project brings together leading organisations from across Europe to develop and validate secure, high-performance Telco, Edge and Cloud services for strategic European sectors.

Connected Collaborative Computing Networks (3CN) describe the convergence of telecommunications networks, edge computing and cloud infrastructures into a unified computing continuum. This approach enables applications and services to dynamically use computing resources wherever they are most efficient, from the network edge to central cloud environments.

EURO-3C aims to:

  • Develop a sovereign European Telco-Edge-Cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate large-scale interoperable 3CN services.
  • Support key European industrial sectors with secure and high-performance computing capabilities.
  • Promote open, federated and vendor-neutral solutions.
  • Strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty and competitiveness.

EURO-3C is a large European consortium of more than 85+ partners bringing together telecommunications operators, technology providers, cloud companies, research organisations, universities and SMEs from several European countries. Each partner contributes expertise in networking, cloud computing, edge computing, software, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

EURO-3C is funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Grant agreement ID 101297599 research and innovation programme. The project contributes to Europe’s ambition to develop secure, interoperable and sovereign digital infrastructures for future communication networks.

The technologies developed within EURO-3C are designed to support a wide range of sectors, including:

  • Telecommunications
  • Manufacturing
  • Mobility and transport
  • Smart cities
  • Public services
  • Healthcare
  • Artificial Intelligence applications
  • Future digital infrastructures

The project validates its solutions through large-scale pilots addressing real industrial and societal needs.

Yes. EURO-3C will disseminate many of its outcomes throughout the project, including scientific publications, public deliverables, demonstrations, videos, news, presentations and participation in international conferences and events. Public resources will be made available through the project website as they become available.

EURO-3C actively engages with the wider research, industrial and innovation communities. While the consortium membership is fixed, the project welcomes opportunities for collaboration through workshops, technical exchanges, standardisation activities, open events and dissemination initiatives. Interested organisations are encouraged to contact the project through the website.
